Last Day of Swimming Lessons!

We have just completed our first session of swimming lessons for the summer. Dallin had so much fun swimming with his buddy Cooper the last 2 weeks! Cooper's mom, Kristi and I took the boys swimming last night to practice all their skills to pass level 2. The boys had so much fun, and I must say that Kristi and were pretty good sports getting in and swimming with the boys even through we froze our @$% off!

Life lessons learned at the ball park.

I know this is just the beginning of many years of mother-spectator sports, but I have really had fun watching Dallin play t-ball this spring. What genuine, real-life entertainment it is to watch these 5 year old boys...not to mention their parents. Isn't it fun to watch the parenting styles of different people? Not that one way is better than the other. I just find it interesting to watch how some parents interact with and display their frustrations with their children. Now, in no way am I critisizing or saying that I am the model mother,(ask my neighbors who can probably hear me yelling from across the street at times- I'm not even close) but somedays when you're are feeling frustrated and thinking, "Really, this is not the kind of mom I always thought I would be" it is just nice to sit back and see that you are not the only mother who may lose her cool at times. (even in grocery store aisles like you promised yourself you never would) It's nice to think you know, maybe I am not doing that bad of a job. Even though we may not be living the "ideal" dream of the kind of mothers we thought we would be....this whole mom thing sometimes turns out to be harder that we dreamed it would be too. So, although there are many things I really need to work on as a mother, life goes by too quickly to not enjoy every minute and feel we are not living up to the notions that we have to be perfect. So, I have really been trying to relax! Give myself some slack! Celebrate the very, very small accomplishments throughout the day, instead of dwelling on all of the things that have in the past drug me down.

Great new movies

This movie is so scandalous, but I loved it! If you do happen to see it....I am going to have to say that you will be so happy you did.

I loved this movie so much I saw it twice. This was so funny!

These are a few of my favorite things....

Wheel-line Sprinklers
I know it sounds really lame, but I absolutly love the sound of sprinklers! I guess it reminds me of when I was younger and would sleep with my windows open in the summer and listen to the sprinklers run in the fields all night.

Barefoot Dreams Blankets
Barefoot Dreams makes THE BEST snuggle blankets ever. They come in all sizes and in various neutral colors. There are also baby blankets, which make a fabulous baby gift!

Brookstone Fuzzy Socks
I picked up three pairs of these babies in an airport once and are now one of my favorite night time pleasures! They are from Brookstone.

BKE Jeans
Oldie, but a goodie! Okay, so I know that BKE jeans have been around forever and there is nothing special about them, but these are still my favorite jeans! I can never find jeans long enough to wear with high heels, but have never had a problem when I look at Buckle!

PF Changs Lettuce Wraps
I crave lettuce wraps from PF Changs, but because of the unfortunate proximity in which I live, the closest thing I have found is Chilie's lettuce wraps, which are not quite, but almost just as satisfying.

Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm

Peanut butter M & M's

Woodwick Candles
Anne Marie turned me onto this great candles. My favorite so far is theSunset Beach Wood Wick Candle . They are so cool! They burn evenly, have a great fragrance and the wick is made out of wood, so it make a soothing crackling sound when you burn it. Makes you feel like you are sitting out by a campfire, minus a layer of soot and the smell of burn wood afterward.

The Thymes: Mandarin Coriander All-Purpose Cleaner
I love the smell of this all purpose cleaner. I really does make the mundane chore of cleaning the kitchen more enjoyable.

Philosophy- Cinnamon Buns Bath & Shower Wash

Viktor & Rolf 'Flowerbomb'

Stila - Tinted Moisturizer
Yet another find my sista Anne Marie has intoduced. Love this!

Diet Coke
As sad as it sounds...D. Coke Somehow fills some lomesome void in my life and instantaneously makes me happy!

Tide-to go
This is a must have! What an amazing product this is! It is almost magical. No one can explain it's ability to make spills disappear, but I always have one on hand. I have actually had lunch with business men who have benefited from my caring a Tide Stick in my handbag. They have been equally as impressed with it's handiness! I later sent each one a Tide Stick of their own!

A shout out to Amy!!

Amy is one of the funnest people I have met! She is animated, caring, genuine, beautiful and creative. Even before I met Amy, people were talking about this sassy, hot momma who can entertain a whole room! Someone said to me, "You haven't met Amy? You will love her; she is such a kick!"

Amy designed these great creations! She has such a fun blog and is going to be doing a drawing for some lucky girl to win one of these beauties!
Check her out: http://thisandthat-amy.blogspot.com/
Sorry Amy, I didn't have a fun picture of you, but did remember that I had this picture of your hubby(far left), who let me just mention, has the reputation around work as being the hottie in the group!

Pancakes & Coconut Syrup!

My sweet grandma sent me her recipe for Aunt Doris' amazing cocnut syrup this morning, so thought I'd share with all my breakfast-lovin sisters out there! Enjoy!

COCONUT PANCAKE SYRUP

½ cup butter
½ cup buttermilk
1 cup sugar
½ tsp soda
1 tsp coconut flavoring

Place all except flavoring in a medium saucepan and cook and stir until it has boiled for one minute. It will foam a lot. Remove from heat. Add 1 tsp coconut flavoring. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator. Best if served warm. Delicious on pancakes, waffles, French toast etc.
You can change the flavor to pineapple, strawberry, orange etc. and have a variety of syrups….
